Project Description
Xiqu Centre (戲曲中心) of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority was a winning design of an international design competition. Inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns, the Centre features a Grand Theatre of 1,100 seats, a Tea House Theatre and studios. The building was designed to world class standard with state-of-the-art acoustical and theatrical systems.
RLB was involved starting from the design competition stage followed by the design phase, procurement, construction and through to closing of the final account. RLB’s contribution had provided significant value in delivering this very challenging project and meeting the project objectives.

Project Description
One Taikoo Place (OTP) is Swire’s latest world-class triple Grade A office building of Taikoo Place. It is a HK$5B development and includes a number of special features such as 1st HK Project with 3m wide module curtain wall and single-pieced 17m hight glass wall, 1st HK commercial project with triple platinum sustainability rating, and state-of-the-art featured walkways connecting Taikoo Place network. This building is designed with the highest energy performance building in HK and artificial intelligence powered building management system utilizing machine learning.
RLB’s professional QS services and expertise play an important role to OTP’s successful completion within budget.

Project Description
Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, the Architectural Services Department (ArshSD) was committed to provide temporary quarantine facilities at various locations including Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island in an extremely short time.
The temporary quarantine facilities at Penny’s Bay comprising a total of 3,100 habitable units constructed in Modular Integrated Construction modules were provided in four phases (Phases Ib, II, IIIA and IIIB) in 2020.
With the adoption of various initiatives in procurement, project delivery and quality assurance aspects which were proven to be the key of success for the project, the ArchSD has brought “impossible mission” to possible.

Project Description
The 14-storey CUHK Medical Centre (CUMC) has a total construction floor area of 100,000m2. It comprises 516 inpatient beds, 28 operating theatres, 16 special medical centres, and is the first hospital developed and operated by CUHK in Hong Kong.
The main construction works under a Design and Build (D&B) Contract commenced in August 2016 and completed in June 2020, and hospital operation started in January 2021.
RLB was engaged as QS since planning stage, and worked closely with the PM, Arup in providing pre and post-contract QS services successfully. The project was completed within budget and without any contractual dispute.

Project Description
Beria Consultants Limited is an independent Quantity Surveying consultancy with clients across the Aisa-Pacific region. In 2017, Beria provided quantity surveying services including cost estimation, cost control and contract administration for the Hong Kong Science Park Expansion Stage (SPX1) project. SPX1 involved building two towers with R&D facilities, laboratories, offices and retail/F&B spaces. It was designed to cater for the demand of the occupants of the existing buildings, while also connecting with and embracing its surroundings to ensure that the new development integrated seamlessly with Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the Science Park.

Project Description
The Intergrated Contract for Construction of Public Rental Housing Development at Anderson Road Site A and B Phases 1 and 2 is procured based on an innovative arrangement named as “Integrated Procurement Approach (IPA)” Contract which is for design and executing the Works in accordance with the contract requirements. The design had been intergrated with the Employer – Hong Kong Housing Authority’s modular flats design.
The Works include 9 domestic blocks (7209 domestic flats) and the community facilities thereof, 2 blocks are in Site A while 7 blocks are in Site B which are rested on podium with a semi-basement underneath.

Project Description
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong has developed into a modern campus with sustainable installations and systems through recent campus expansions with a vision to grow into a sustainable and smart campus. To address the University’s current space need for alignment with future academic planning, the 5-Storey New Academic Building is to provide additional space such as lecture theatre, studios, gallery plus staff offices to support teaching and learning activities. The new Building will also serve in due course as a barrier-free route connecting the legacy buildings on campus to the newer developments, thus bringing communities together more efficiently.

The Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH) Eastern Medical Centre campus at A Kung Ngam, eastern Hong Kong Island, is a cornerstone expansion of the 100-year old Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital & HKSH Medical Group. To address the aging population and cancer as the number one killer in Hong Kong, HKSH Eastern Medial Centre aims to be a new medical hub for Hong Kong, providing a world-class multi-disciplinary comprehensive cancer care and ambulatory treatment programme. Specifically, HKSH aims to provide the world most cutting-edge image-guided proton therapy to treat cancer in the most precise and effective manner – the first time in Hong Kong proton therapy.

Project Description
Urban Renewal Authority was commissioned to revitalize the Central Market as a part of “Conserving Central” initiative proposed by the HKSAR Government.
Under various site and time constraints, the Team has opted for a minimum intervention approach to preserve the Grade 3 historic building while maintaining the accessibility of a 24-hour public passgeway throughout the whole construction period. The team has proliferated the use of higher dimension BIM applications to ensure effective project management and seamless cross-functional communication. Multiple smart features have also been applied to promote sustainable concept and provide an approachable, energetic and gregarious place for the community.

Project Description
The existing Fu Shan Public Mortuary (FSPM) has been in use for more than 30 years. There exists an imminent need to replace the worn out facilities and enhance the quality of public mortuary service. With project team’s enthusiasm and injection of innovative ideas, the new FSPM completed in 2022 and rebranded through digitalization of services and new building image with a calm and serene environment. BIM and other innovative initiatives not only add value in project delivery, but also provide a platform for collaborating inputs from various stakeholders. It facilitiates effective contract administration and financial management of the project.

Project Description
The project is a development of eleven residential towers of 26 to 28 storeys each constructed on top of a 2-levels podium and 2 levels of basement floors which comprises of entrance lobbies, club house, carpark and plant rooms. The approximate total GFA is 91,770m2. The project is for the construction of the buildings in reinforced concrete completed with finishes, services and ancillary works. The extenal works including the Public Open Space and Public Waterfront Promenade comprises of utility diversions, installation and connection works, road works, streetscape works, swimming pool and water features (including filtration plant and equipment), external paving, ramps, stairs, planters with soil filling, soft and hard landscapling, and external lighting.
BIM is extensively and fully utilised in this project for the purpose of virtual design and construction visualization, works coordination, data and information exchange and communication, early detection of works sequence conflict and components clashes in form, shape and space, measurement of quantities, etc.

Project Description
Beria Consultants Limited is an independent Quantity Surveying Consultancy with clients across the Asia-Pacific region. In 2015, Beria provided quantity surveying services including cost estimation, cost control and contract administration for the Student Residence at Wong Chuk Hang Site for The University of Hong Kong. The Wong Chuk Hang Student Residence Development consists of two 17-floor towers for around 1,224 student places as well as living accommodation for management staff and supporting facilities. The project has been selected as one of the two pilot projects for adopting Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) in Hong Kong. Beria provided innovative ideas on contract administration for this pilot MiC project. Beria also made use of digital cost estimation and management software to deliver high efficient and accurate cost control service.

Project Description
The St. Paul’s College Campus Enhancement project is located at 69 Bonham Road. It is an Alteration & Additional (A&A) Works package comprises of new structural works to Main Entrance, Swimming Pool, Changing Rooms, Staff Room, Library and Alumni Office.
The A&A Works package is based on Schedule of Rates (SOR) tender, and the use of Arcadis in-house developed Electronic Tendering digital tools, the “L10Excel System”. The system was implemented during tendering process aiming to eliminate common issues encountered during traditional SOR tendering and for prompt compilation of unit rates/quatities comparison.

Project Description
The Disciplined Services Quarters for the Fire Services Department at Pak Shing Kok, Tseung Kwan O is the first high-rise concrete Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) building in Hong Kong, The development consists of approximately 3,800 MiC modules.
The project comprises of five quarters blocks, among which four are of 16 storeys and one is of 17 storeys. With 8 units on each floor, the quarters will provide 648 three bedroom units each of 50 square metres. The development also comprises of ancillary facilities including a Building Management Office, a Multi-Function Room, outdoor children playground and covered walkway etc.
